Located in Dorset's lush countryside, just outside Sherborne, The Seed Company was launched in 2006 by family firm Pearce Seeds Limited who, for over forty years, has led innovation in agronomy (the science of seeds and crops) and agriculture in the South West of England. Ken and Chris Tuffin, directors of Pearce Seeds, entered into a new partnership with farmers in Dorset to grow a specially selected variety of rapeseed. The company then buys back the crop from the farmers, creating a guaranteed market for them at a fair price. The Seed Company then crushed the seed to make its fabulous cold pressed rapeseed oil.

Traceability and provenance is a major part of the new oil's heritage and the company has effectively created a golden pathway linking seed to farmer, to oil producer and on to consumer. The Seed Company is also a member of the British Association of Cold Pressed Oil Producers. for more information, see their website.

The Seed Company are working with Brett Sutton, Executive Head Chef of The Eastbury Hotel in Dorset, to come up with recipes and new product ideas. The Seed Company has also collaborated with a number of speciality food producers to create co-branded products where cold pressed oil is used as a healthier alternative to other oils or fats. Recent projects incuode our Dorset Thick&Thins with Moores in Bridport, using only ingredients upplied from Dorset companies. Olives Et Al in Sturminster Newton also have a range of dressings made with our oil.
